Otto Geigenberger Prints – Townscapes, Harbours & Landscapes
Otto Geigenberger prints explore riverside towns, layered rooftops, harbours and changing landscapes. Repeated views of Wasserburg am Inn sit beside scenes of Braunau, Hamburg and other European settings, bringing architecture and water into close relationship. Wasserburg and the town viewed from above
Wasserburg am Inn, View from Magdalenenweg looks across a group of roofs towards the town and its tower. The collection returns to Wasserburg from several positions, following the riverfront, bridge, castle and surrounding slopes. Comparing these views makes the town’s changing arrangement of roofs, walls and open spaces part of the interest.
Riverside architecture and working harbours
Braunau am Inn brings pale buildings above the riverbank, with boats along the foreground. In Ships in the Port of Hamburg, a moored vessel and the large buildings behind give the water a more industrial setting. Other port subjects extend this thread through the collection. Further boats and waterfront scenes can be found in our seascape collection.
Beyond the town: coast and countryside
The selection also includes snowy landscapes, lakeside places and coastal subjects such as the chalk cliffs on Rügen. These offer a more open counterpart to the dense arrangements of town buildings. Browse landscape art for related outdoor views, or colourful wall art to explore other paintings through their use of colour.

Compare Geigenberger’s towns with the architectural subjects of Oskar Mulley and the European views of Konstantin Gorbatov. The landscapes and town scenes of August Macke offer a different use of simplified shapes and colour within recognisable places.
