Luigi Russolo (1885–1947), an Italian Futurist, transcended traditional artistic boundaries as a painter, composer, and builder of experimental musical instruments. Renowned for his 1913 manifesto "The Art of Noises," he pioneered noise music, envisioning it as a departure from conventional melodies. Russolo's Gran Concerto Futuristico faced controversy, yet his Intonarumori instruments were lost in World War II. Associated with Italian fascism, he collaborated with brother Antonio Russolo, leaving an enduring impact on avant-garde art, particularly in the exploration of unconventional auditory experiences.
