The embrace and the patterned surface

The Kiss brings two figures together within a field of gold-coloured pattern. Rectangles, circles and flower-like marks distinguish areas of clothing and surrounding ground. These are printed reproductions of the image, allowing the composition and its decorative contrasts to be explored alongside other figure subjects.

Portraits framed by ornament

Lady with a Fan places the sitter among birds, flowers and a bright yellow background. The figure remains clearly defined even as the surrounding pattern fills much of the image. Further portraits in the collection offer different relationships between clothing, face and setting. Explore portrait prints for related subjects.

Forests and flowering gardens

Beech Grove I replaces the figure with a close rhythm of slender trunks and leaf-covered ground. Garden paintings, lakeside views and village subjects extend this landscape thread. The repeated marks and densely arranged shapes offer a quieter counterpart to the more familiar portraits and allegorical figures.
