A broad street between varied façades

Market Day, Queen Street, Auckland looks past shopfronts, pedestrians and small vehicles towards a distant narrowing route. Taller buildings punctuate the skyline. The open foreground gives the everyday activity room while keeping the architectural detail visible along both sides.

Boats before the sunlit buildings

Venice, the Grand Canal sets several low craft on pale water between substantial façades. Small figures give the vessels scale. The canal provides a quieter open surface within the detailed city, allowing reflections and passing boats to connect its two built edges.

A tower above the occupied square

Platz in San Gimignano raises warm brickwork beside lighter buildings and a small public gathering. The vertical structure dominates without removing the people below. Compare the enclosed space around its base with the wider street and canal views.
