A sequence of arches and lit floorboards

The Landing in Summer looks along a furnished passage towards a distant window. Pictures and dark furniture line the walls, while a bright patch stretches across the near floor. The repeated openings divide the depth into clear stages without obscuring the room’s smaller possessions and everyday character.

A red rug leading towards the entrance

The Front Door places the patterned textile near the centre of a hall with framed pictures and furniture along its sides. An arch encloses the farther door and glazed panels. The different floor coverings and bands of light make a clear route from the viewer’s position to the entrance.

Town buildings beneath a mountain wall

Chamonix, France sets pale façades and steep roofs below a much larger backdrop of snowy peaks and dark slopes. Small street details occupy the lower edge. The contrast in scale gives the buildings an intimate presence while keeping the mountains clearly dominant in the surrounding landscape.
