A city spread along the water

Panoramic View of Venice opens a wide view across the lagoon, with domes and roofs close to the foreground and a long line of buildings beyond. The large pale sky leaves the city low within the image. Small boats provide scale without interrupting the broad horizontal arrangement.

A path between rock and sea

The Capuchin Monastery near Amalfi sets figures and a boat beside a steep rocky coast, with buildings rising above the shoreline. Light catches the broken stone surfaces while blue water fills the lower distance. The narrow coastal passage gives the architecture a more rugged setting than the urban panoramas.

Looking upward from the street

The Asinelli and Garisenda Towers in Bologna raises two unequal towers above surrounding façades and small figures. The close viewpoint emphasises their different angles and heights. Compare this compressed urban space with the open Venice view, where many buildings share a distant skyline rather than dominating the whole composition.
